As usual, Faye was the one to sleep in, even on the first day back to school. She enjoyed sleeping, and didn't get to bed as early as she should've last night. She turned in her sleep toward the side of the room with the open window. Only a couple moments later, she began to feel a sharp object hitting her nose. She subconsciously tried swatting it away, but finally she woke up to find her small barn owl pecking at her.
"I'm up, I'm up," she told him, anxious for the owl to quit. The owl just stood on her bed, watching her, as Faye sat up and looked around, stretching. Her hazel eyes caught the two nearest things to her--the clock and the calendar on the wall. After her eyes adjusted to the light, she noticed the little red words written on the day just after a red X. "Hogwarts Express." "Oh lord," she muttered under her breath. Her eyes then caught the green letters on the clock. "For the love of Merlin! Why didn't she wake me?" she asked herself in disbelief. She pulled the sheets of the bed off her, and jumped out of bed. She quickly changed, and then went over to her owl who had just been watching her the entire time. "Come on, Ambrosius, you know you're coming with me," she told the owl. She held her arm by the owl's talons so he could step up easily, and then put him in his cage. She grabbed her trunk, all packed, with her right hand, and hurried down the stairs.
She caught a glimpse of her aunt when she reached the landing. She sat at the table drinking a cup of tea, staring off into oblivion it seemed. She didn't even notice Faye had awoken finally. "Auntie En," she stated in an annoyed and hurried tone, trying to get her attention. "We're going to be late." She set her stuff by the table, grabbed a piece of toast, and stood waiting for her.
"Oh, sorry love, just thinking a bit," Aunt En muttered. "We're alright, we'll go by floo powder, it'll give you a chance to eat." Aunt En continued drinking her tea, but turned to look at Faye and smiled. She looked quite young to be her aunt. Her real age was something in the low forties, for she never really told Faye, but she looked something like 32. Her brown hair was all up in bun except for the to long locks of her bangs. She was very beautiful, had fair skin only a shade darker than Faye's, and had big brown eyes. She put her tea down. "Sit, relax for a while before you go. Hard for me already to think that you're going back again after these 3 months." Faye sat down, and continued to eat her toast. Her aunt poured Faye some tea which she drank in only a few sips. "Slow down, dear," her aunt urged her through a quiet giggle. "You have time."
"Don't you think we should be going? I want to get a good compartment." Aunt En then nodded, noticing her urgency. Faye carried her trunk and Ambrosius over to the fire, and both Faye and her aunt got into the fireplace. "King's Cross Station," her aunt stated, and they were transported to a fireplace next to the officer's quarters. They got out of the fire place and headed down a ways looking for the barrier to Platform 9 3/4. They took a running start, and entered through the barrier.
Faye caught sight of the usual packed platform, the train in the station and students and families saying goodbye. Faye wheeled her cart out toward one door where a porter was letting students on. Faye turned to her aunt who was already starting to tear up. "It'll be alright," Faye assured her. "Like last year, I'll send mail home through Ambrosius as often as you want me to." Her aunt just nodded, and Faye embraced her. "I'll write you today, if you'd like." They broke the hug, and Faye carried her stuff up to the train. She turned around again, and saw her aunt wiping her tears away.
"Bye, love," was all Aunt En could manage to get out. Faye waved, and disappeared down the corridor with her things at hand. She began looking for a compartment. She found an empty one at relatively the back of the train, walked in and stowed away her trunk. She sat down by the window, and set Ambrosius's cage down beside her. She sighed, and began to watch the passing landscape outside.
((OOC: Lol, sorry it's so long. I didn't expect it to be that bad.))

Xian was awakened by an annoying sound next to him. The wonderful invention called alarm clock. He ignored it completely and went back to sleep. Before he could get into a deep sleep he felt cold water on his face. Apparently his uncle was in a hurry to get rid of him. "Wake up lad, don't want to be late now."
He groaned and got up. He had only gotten a few hours of sleep. He was too busy reading to waste time on sleeping. He got dressed in skinny jeans, a shirt, and some sneakers. It was going to be long hours of traveling and he needed to be as comfortable as possible. He looked in the mirror a little bit longer than necessary. He didn't even bother to brush his hair. He took Peter, his pet toad, in his hand and in the other took his suitcase. He went down the stairs. He sat down and ate his breakfast without speaking. The tiny family was not very verbose or social.
When he finished he finally spoke "Uncle Jared am I going by floo powder again?" His uncle responded affirmative, and his aunt came toward him with the powder in a pot. He entered the chimney, crouching down not to be hit in the head. Before taking the floo powder in hand he hugged his aunt, and shook hands with his uncle. They were not going with him for he was very independent, and didn't need adult supervision to get to platform 9 3/4. He took the floo powder saying in a clear and loud voice "King's Cross".
He now saw all the other people hurrying to the trains. He went directly inbetween platforms 9 and 10 and got to the Hogwarts Express. He saw all the first years scarred for their lives and the parents crying because they see their children go. Xian thought it was pitiful. These people all had weak hearts. He got into the train, and found no compartment empty. He had to do with one near the end of the train where only one person was in it. Stopping at the door he said "Excuse me everywhere else is full. Can I?" He said pointing to the seat opposite her. He clearly didn't want to be here but it would have to do. in his voice no sign of malice was vicible but in his face you could see he wasn't in the mood for socializing.

Faye shot her head toward the door when she heard the sound of it sliding. Ambrosius was startled, and jumped in his cage at the sudden sound. She noticed a boy about her age came in and ask to join her.
"Of course," she muttered. After he sat down, and after staring at him for a moment, Faye turned back to her activity of watching everything fly by out the compartment window. Each tree going by marked how far away she'd be from home. She didn't even get to say goodbye to her uncle, it just occured to her. They weren't that close, though, but she felt she should have at least seen him before going off to school.

He sat down opposite to her and took out a book. He started reading when he heard a loud ribbit break the silence. He had forgotten about Peter. He layed the book aside and started petting Peter on his back. it was slimy and to most girls would probably feel disgusting. He didn't mind the feel it was queer of course but still to him very comforting. He avoided looking at the girl as much as possible. However he did eye the owl curiously. It seemed to him that the owl and the girl had a close relationship. He kept his eye on the owl for a while, at the same time he never stopped petting Peter. He felt comforted by touching him and the toad felt comforted by his stroking it. It was a kid of mutualism, one helping the other.
