Valdeya had lain awake for at least an hour. She tossed over onto her left side again and stared at the wall. After another twenty minutes, she rolled over for what had to be almost the hundredth time. She gave a nearly silent hiss of frustration and threw her blankets back. Slowly and quietly, she crept out of bed, grabbed a robe, book, and wand and sprinted out of the dormitory. The Slytherin common room was empty and peaceful, just like she was looking for, but she felt like taking a walk.
She wandered down the hall, hearing nothing but the soft pitter-patter of her bare feet hitting the cold stone floor. She stopped and looked around. She had lost track of where she was going and made it all the way up to the sixth floor. Shrugging, she turned the corner and walked down one more corridor. Finding a single suit of armor, she tapped it with her wand, forcing it to move to the right. She lowered herself down to the floor by its silver feet and opened her book.
At least an hour passed in silence as Valdeya reread ‘Magick Moste Evile’ for the eighteenth time. Though she could get any of it, and better, out of her parents, she seemed to find something new in the old book every time she read it. Suddenly, she heard a noise at the other end of the corridor. Footsteps. And they were moving toward her end of the corridor. She kept her head bent and watched the figure out of the corner of her eye. Seeing them continue to come closer, she sprang to her feet and drew her wand.

Madison had laid awake for about a while now. She knew that she was a deep sleeper, but tonight it was different. She had noticed that a figure had moved out of the corridor so quickly and a little too quiet. Madison didn't go after her mostly because she wasn't the nosy type and she could have cared less what the girl was doing. Madison looked over at her watch and realized it was after hours. "Breaking Curfew..how splended." She said with a smirk curling her lips. Madison grabbed her wand, threw the blankets off of her and wandered out of the dormatory, down the spiral staircase, through the common room and out of the door.
Madison knew the prefects were roaming the corridors, and so were the professors. Madison had the blood of a Black and knew how to avoid them. She had learned from her late aunt the secret passages throughout Hogwarts. She stalked quietly through the corridors of the dunegons, and up to the first floor. There she searched around and saw no one. "Wait a minute..it's too quiet..a little too quiet." She said as she went through her pockets and tossed a coin out into the open. A orange-brownish cat came pouncing onto the coin. Madison smirked. "Never gets old does it." She spoke as she looked over to a stone in the wall, tapped it twice and tapped it again. The wall moved over to the side a bit and Madison crawled into the wall.
The passage was long, old and dusty. Madison loved this atomosphere. "Lumos.." she said as the tip of her wand illuminated. She followed the passage, wandering the many twists and turns it had with it. Dust was everywhere , and seemed to attach itself to Maddie. Once she had reached the end of the passage, she slowly moved the portrait and looked out. There seemed to be no one, and Madison knew that this floor was safe. She crawled out of the portrait and jumped onto the floor. She closed the portrait and then out of the corner of her eye caught someone. She grabbed her wand and whipped it out fast. Then there stood a girl...

As she jumped up and pulled her wand from her left pocket, she was careful to keep quiet. Or, so she thought. Stooping over quickly, she caught the book just before it hit the ground. She cursed quietly as the front page ripped slightly between her long fingers. Not worrying about repairing it now, even though her mother would be furious, to say the least, she brought her attention back to the person ahead.
Squinting her green-red eyes, she made out the face of the girl a few feet away. Recognizing it to be Madison Black, a fellow Slytherin, she gave a small sigh of relief. Valdeya did not know the other Slytherin extremely well, even though they were in the same house and year, but she did know she had to at least be better than running into a prefect or professor.
Tilting her head to the right, she simply continued to watch the other girl. She kept her wand raised and perfectly aimed, though she did not yet actually intend to do anything. Not moving, keeping her stance, she finally spoke. "Black?" she said almost silently, wanting to make sure she was correct before saying anymore or changing her position.

Madison had known the passages in and out and knew where they led, something she had learned from her aunt who had passed ten years earlier. She had just recently passed through the portrait when something had moved. She thought she had seen a suit of armor move. Madison had taken out her wand in an instant, and pointed it at the armor, moving quietly, and stealth like. She then saw a girl, who had indeed the same thing.
A smirk crossed her face, as she lowered her wand. "Onyxx..what are you doing up here? I thought you were a lower year..I could have jinxed ya." She spoke as she slid the wand back into her back pocket and gazed at the girl with her pale eyes, which were underlined with black make-up.

Standing still, appearing to be almost frozen, she waited for the other girl to say something in return. As Madison finally spoke, Valdeya gave another silent sigh. Laughing, she smiled and stepped forward. "No, Black, I'm not. And, I could ask you the exact same thing." Giving another soft laugh, she raised an eyebrow. "Jinx me? I would like to see you try."
Honestly, Valdeya was not looking for a fight, her minorly stuck-up attitude just always got in the way. Letting her face clear of all expression, her eyes followed the other girl's hand as she put her wand away. Valdeya lowered her own, but did not yet put it back in her pocket. Gripping the book in her right hand tighter, she spread her fingers to assure that the back cover was hidden. She stared into the pale eyes in front of her for a minute, before opening her mouth again. "You haven't seen anyone else around, have you?" Glancing up the corridor, she thought about her words. Hopefully no prefects, professors... mothers. This was not a night she wanted to be caught, even more so than usual.

Madison chuckled at the response that Valdeya had given. "Well you never know. There's about a thousand students here..I'm sure there are a bunch of them that like to "bend" the rules." Madison said as she lifted an eyebrow. "Is that a promise your making there Onyxx?" she asked. There was something about this girl, Madison liked. She was just like her. Making remarks about not being jinxed. "Plus I've done it before..to my sister and others..they all winded up into the hospital, but for you I won't, mostly because I like your attitude." She smirked as she packed away her wand into her pocket.
She did notice she was clutching something out of sight, though Madison knew it must have been a thing she really didn't want any one to see, Madison didn't bring it up. Madison shook her head. 'Nope..unless you call that mangy fur ball that struts around the castle on the main floor. Other than that I didn't see anyone." She said and then began to smirk. "Taking it you don't want your mother to know your breaking curfew." her smirk stayed pasted to her face.

Valdeya nodded in agreement, "That is very true." She chuckled and nodded again, "It is. I'd like to see you take your best shot." Tapping her wand against her leg, she raised her eyebrow again. "Oh, I believe you have and that they did. But, I can also assure you, I won't go down so easily." She gave a smirk, eyes flashing mildly, from emerald to scarlet, though she did not even realize it.
Rolling her eyes, she shook her head. "Mangy furball on the main floor..." she snorted. At Madison's next words, her eyebrows furrowed, arrogance fading slightly. "Of course, not," she snapped, then added, "You wouldn't either if she was your mother. She's wonderful, but she is certainly not someone to anger, she can be a real..." she let the end of her sentence trail off with shake of her head.

She smirked. "I would..but I just don't feel like it." She spoke, knowing she was not in the mood for a fight, unless it was someone who wish to do her harm, but since she was out her to have fun, she rather keep it that way. She chuckled. 'Neither do I. Something I inherted from my father." She spoke, knowing there was a lot she had inherted from her father, who had been a former Death Eater and a high ranking one.
She laughed along with Valdeya. "Yup he is..pounced on my coin that I threw since it was a little too quiet." She smirked. She almost bursted out laughing. "Chill..I already know what it's like to have a mother like yours. Always wanting you to be the "perfect" person." Madison said, knowing her mother was just the kind that irrated you to some extent of doing thing right. "Plus if my mother ever worked here, I wouldn't come here anymore." She confessed.

Valdeya chuckled, her wand hand twitching as she spun the stick between her long fingers. She hummed under breath for a moment, thinking about what Madison had said about not feeling like dueling. But what if she started something? She pondered. Smiling, she tilted her head in question, "Your father?" Still doubting the other would be able to beat her if they ever did fight, she smiled again. "And something I inherited from my..." she caught herself. Who had she gotten it from? Father? Mother or Grandfather? Probably a mix, though especially the latter. Either way, she couldn't believe she had almost slipped up. The littlest hint could ruin everything.
She gave a small growl of irritation to cover up her small hiss of Parseltongue. "Yes, sure." She gave a laugh, "I wish her wanting me to be her definition of perfect was the worst thing about her." Heaving a sigh, she thought how she at least was thankful she hadn't grown up like her mother had. Her mother always tried to claim that it was all her grandfather's fault, and that she should be happy to have them, because he had been even worse than her or Valdeya's father. Valdeya never knew if she could imagine or believe that. She blinked as Madison's voice broke her away from her thoughts. "I can't believe I do have the nerve to with her here," she admitted. "I must be insane." And it was true, she would never stop taking her late night tours, no matter how many punishments she recieved, inside and outside of school, for it. Not learning from her mistakes was a bad trait that she had definitely gotten from her dear grandfather.
{{OOC: What about twisting things a little and having someone catch them? Like...you as Jakatra or me as Ryneira? Just another random idea.}}
